"The Slobodzeyskie Vesti" regional newspaper celebrated its 90th anniversary since its foundation. The Parliament Vice-Speaker Galina Antyufeeva and the deputies of the Supreme Council for the Slobodzeya districts arrived to congratulate the veterans and current journalists of the publication. Sergei Cheban, Ivan Nedelkov, Igor Yarych emphasized that the newspaper retains youthful enthusiasm and positive energy despite its venerable age, and is rightfully considered one of the best print media in Pridnestrovie. This is also stated in the greeting address of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, which was handed over to the staff by the parliamentarians.

The first issue of the newspaper was published on March 6, 1932. The publication had different names during 90 years: "Pridnestrovian Collective Farmer", "Stalin's Way", "Lenin's Banner", "Banner of Victory", "Dniester Pravda", "Selskaya Novi", the founders of the newspaper also changed, but one thing remained unchanged – to feel time keenly. It doesn’t matter where to conduct a dialogue with the reader on printed pages or on the Internet, the main thing is that it is interesting. The publication was renamed into "The Slobodzeyskie Vesti" in 1991.

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva on the festive day thanked the veterans and active journalists for their work. The best in the profession were awarded medals, certificates and badges of the Union of Journalists of Pridnestrovie.

Times change, but the principles of "The Slobodzeyskie Vesti" remain unchanged – a balanced approach, relevance of topics and attention to detail. Correspondents of the newspaper became laureates and winners of journalistic competitions in our republic and neighboring countries, which emphasizes their talent and professionalism.
