Guarantor of protection and security of the Pridnestrovian statehood

The Ministry of Defense commissioned 13 capital construction facilities and 3 reconstructed facilities in five years. Particular attention was paid to improving the infrastructure and material and technical equipment of the Pridnestrovian army, caserns and canteens are being overhauled, the territory of military units is being renovated. This was discussed in the course of the solemn meeting dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the creation of the Armed Forces of Pridnestrovie, which was held in the Palace of the Republic.

The leadership of the Ministry of Defense was congratulated on behalf of the Supreme Council by the Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Chairman of the Committee on Legislation, Law Enforcement, Defense, Security, Peacekeeping, Protection of the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens Galina Antyufeeva. She presented Oleg Obruchkov with a welcome address of the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov.

The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic from the first days of its existence was forced to take measures to protect itself, Defense Minister Oleg Obruchkov noted. Resolution on the creation of the Republican Guard, which became the prototype of the current Armed Forces was adopted on September 6, 1991.

The fallen defenders were honored with a minute of silence. Distinguished servicemen were presented with state awards: orders, medals, certificates and letters of thanks from the President, and were awarded regular military ranks.

The Military Band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the PMR performed for servicemen, veterans and defenders of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
