Galina Antyufeeva, "We want to preserve the right to live, work and study on our land"

The Day of Peace was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1981. This day every year, the United Nations calls on all countries of the world to end the war. Celebrations for the International Day of Peace were held for the first time in our republic. Veterans and schoolchildren, activists and public figures, representatives of public authorities gathered in Tiraspol at the Memorial of Glory.

The Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antufeeva congratulated the Pridnestrovians on the occasion. The Vice-Speaker noted that the place of the celebration was chosen not by chance.

Then the youth, schoolchildren, veterans and defenders of the republic released balloons into the sky and the emblem of the mass event - a pigeon.

White and blue balls were launched to the sky above Bendery, Slobodzeya, Rybnitsa, Dubossary and Grigoriopol in addition to the capital. The mass event "Dove of Peace" also took place in these cities. Its organizers were activists of the youth branch of “The Obnovlenie” Republican Party. According to them, the mass event sets itself the task of strengthening friendly relations between generations and peoples.

Participants of the mass event laid flowers to the slabs of the dead heroes. The event was attended by deputies of the Supreme Council Viktor Guzun and Vadim Kravchuk.
