Peacekeeping forces entered Pridnestrovie 29 years ago. The bloodshed on the banks of the Dniester was stopped thanks to the signing of agreement on the principles of a peaceful settlement. The Russian peacekeepers, together with the peacekeepers of Pridnestrovie and Moldova, have been ensuring peace in our land all this time. According to the established tradition, the solemn events dedicated to the entry of Russian peacekeeping forces into our republic begin near the Arch of Peace at the entrance to the Parkany village.

The introduction of the peacekeeping contingent of Russia guaranteed the safety of the inhabitants of our republic, provided an opportunity for further development of Pridnestrovie. Every resident of the Republic is deeply aware of the important role of the representatives of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.

Representatives of state authorities laid flowers at the Eternal Flame of the Memorial of Memory and Sorrow in Bendery, at the bust of General A.I. Lebed, as well as at the Memorial Sign dedicated to the peacekeepers, near the traffic militia post at the entrance to Bendery. The President of the PMR presented state awards to the military of the Russian and Pridnestrovian contingents of the peacekeeping forces.
