Deputies adopted a statement of the Supreme Council on the inadmissibility of aggravating the situation in the Security Zone. The Parliament of Pridnestrovie considers it necessary to take effective measures to unblock the work of the Joint Control Commission and the work of the Joint Military Command.
Deputies of the profile commission on the eve of the plenary session today discussed the situation in the process of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement and the problems of the functioning of the peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie.
Deputies of the Supreme Council noted that Pridnestrovie sees the possibility of overcoming the crisis only in the form of equal dialogue between the parties without including politically motivated issues and issues in the peacekeeping agenda.
The statement of the Supreme Council notes that the long-term preservation of the existing crisis situation or its aggravation can lead to a breakdown of the mechanism of the Joint Control Commission, the work of the Joint Military Command, and hence the entire peacekeeping in Pridnestrovie.
The Supreme Council considers it necessary to hold consultations on the problems of the functioning of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester with Russian colleagues from the State Duma.
The document adopted by the deputies was sent to the participants in the negotiation process in the “5 + 2” format.
