Galina Antyufeeva, "Citizens' appeals must be considered promptly and with the utmost care"

Parliamentarians during the plenary session adopted amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses in the second, final reading. The law-in-draft is aimed at strengthening administrative responsibility for unlawful refusal to accept or consider appeals of citizens. As one of the authors of the legislative initiative Galina Antyufeeva explained, numerous appeals from citizens are the basis for changing the law.

The terms and procedure for examining citizens' appeals have been determined in the current legislation. According to the vice-speaker, their execution should be mandatory for all civil servants who conduct receptions of citizens on various issues, consider people's appeals, whether they are representative of a state authority or an employee of a municipal institution.

Earlier, the Supreme Council introduced amendments to the law with the same name, which provided for a norm obliging the authorities to receive citizens' appeals throughout the whole working day, and 24 hours in the cases prescribed by law.

According to the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, penalty sanctions for unlawful refusal to accept or consider appeals of citizens against officials will be from 20 to 50 MW. In the case of repeated violation - from 50 to 100 MW. The adopted law is sent for signature to the President.
