Galina Antyufeeva, "It is ashamed not to serve in the army"

On April 8, 1918, the Council of People's Commissars adopted the Decree on the Establishment of Volost, District, Provincial and District Commissariats for Military Affairs, thanks to which the Red Army was subsequently created in the shortest possible time. The grand meeting dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of military commissariats was held today in the capital's palace of culture. The event was attended by Vice Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva.

The military commissariats of the republic are continuers of the traditions of the Soviet army. The military commissioner of the republic, Vladimir Palchinsky, told how the military institute was born on the Pridnestrovian land, and what role military commissariats played in the period of Pridnestrovian statehood formation.

September 6 of the same year the Supreme Council of the PSRSR adopted a resolution on the military commissariats of the republic. Work on staffing the units of the Republican Guard began. During the military aggression of the Republic of Moldova, the military commissariats in the most difficult conditions conducted general mobilization to protect the young republic.

Defense Minister Oleg Obruchkov congratulated military servicemen on the centennial jubilee. The head of the department handed the military commissar a greeting address of the President.

Servicemen of all ranks and ages, everyone who wears shoulder straps and selflessly serve the Motherland, was greeted by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva. The Vice-Speaker emphasized that, in many respects, thanks to military commissariats, military traditions, honesty, decency, loyalty to military duty are preserved and transferred. It depends on military commissariats what the conscription will be, what preparatory work is carried out among the future defenders of the republic.

Currently, the Pridnestrovian conscripts serve one year, in a number of military units the working day regime operates, university students who serve on conscription can study in absentia. According to Galina Antyufeeva, the style of teaching military affairs should become modern. The vice-speaker read out the address of the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba.

Defense Minister Oleg Obruchkov and Vice Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva presented state awards and diplomas to distinguished servicemen. The honorary sign "For contribution to the cause of parliamentarism" was presented to the military commissioner of the republic, Vladimir Palchinsky.
