The 1st of August is the Day of Remembrance and Mourning for the fallen and deceased defenders of the republic. Flower-laying ceremony was held at the graves of the PMR defenders who died in the early 90s of the XX century in Tiraspol, at the Memorial of Glory this morning. The ceremony was attended by the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeyeva, the PMR Supreme Council Deputy Gregory Dyachenko, heads and representatives of state administration bodies and public organizations. They laid wreaths, baskets and flowers at the Eternal Flame and the graves of Pridnestrovians who gave their lives for the freedom of the young republic.

Thousands of residents of the cities of Bendery, Dubossary, Rybnitsa, Kamenka, Slobodzeya and Tiraspol met face to face with the war. Terrible memories will remain in memory forever, although 29 years have passed since the end of hostilities and the return of peace to the land of Pridnestrovie.

804 Pridnestrovians were killed, over 3 thousand people were injured, and about 1.5 thousand became disabled in the hostilities that unfolded in the early 90s on the banks of the Dniester. Today their feat at the Glory Memorial was honored with a minute of silence.
