Those who went through the war, and those who were children during the Great Patriotic War, are home front workers and combat veterans. Dugout mass event in the center of the capital brings them together every year. Those who saw the horrors of that war with their own eyes are becoming less and less every year. Only a few veterans of the Great Patriotic War, who today live in the capital, were able to come to the Dugout this time. The youngest of them is already 95 years old. Soldier's porridge with tea and a hundred grams of front-line were served for all of them. There were songs about the war of course. Compositions known for many decades were sung almost in unison.
The leadership of the country was with the veterans today in the Dugout. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the victory and feat of the Soviet soldier.
Here are the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They help veterans, because many of them are almost a hundred years old. The older generation tells how this great Victory Day was brought closer. They reminded that the main thing is to remember, but also to appreciate and protect the world.
The guests of the holiday did not disperse for a long time after the Dugout. They continued to chat and took pictures for memory. May 9 is a special day for them. This is the day when they together with the whole country celebrate the Victory Day in the war that they saw with their own eyes.
