In accordance with paragraph 3 of Art. 67 of the Constitution, the President issued a decree to convene the first plenary on 23 December. Constitutional norms - no later than the thirtieth day after the official publication of the election results - had been met, although the newly elected parliamentarians hoped for a prompt start of the legislature.
Plenary Hall was full. At the opening of the first parliamentary session of the Supreme Council of the VI convocation there was the first President of the PMR Igor Smirnov, the President Yevgeny Shevchuk, elected deputies, representatives of various public authorities, guests from Abkhazia and South Ossetia and mass media.
The head of the CEC reminded that the vote took place on 43 districts in terms of equality of political competition. 158 candidates for deputies of the Supreme Council of the sixth convocation were registered, which is 15 less than last time. 21 applicants were denied in registration. Five of them were re nominated, and have been registered. 16 acting deputies of town and district councils, 4 members of the Government, 30 - deputies of the Supreme Councils of the fifth convocation were among candidates.
The biggest competition was fixed at constituency №37, where 8 candidates were registered.
The electoral base of these elections amounted to 424,508 people. 205 229 (48.3%) came to the polling stations. The most electoral activity was at this time in Kamenka (54%).
The voting results were officially published in mass media, directed to the President and the Supreme Council. Registration took place December 2. Elected deputies were presented certificates.

Returning to the election, Elena Gorodetskaya reminded that journalists from France, Russia, and Moldova covered the implementation of the first in the history of Pridnestrovian single voting day, in addition to local mass media. 36 officials from 17 countries observed in Pridnestrovie during the voting process. International experts were unanimous in their opinion that the elections were held in compliance with international standards and Pridnestrovian legislation.
