Bendery was given the status of the historical cities of USSR in 1986, due to the uniqueness of the architectural plan of the central part of the city. Another page of history of the legendary city was opened in centenary year residence of the imperial family. A memorial plaque was opened to mark the occasion in front of the former Pushkin audience.

This place is not chosen by accident. The auditorium was built by architect Nikulin in 1902, during the First World War military hospital was deployed for the wounded of the Southwestern Front, commanded by General Alexei Brusilov. The family of the last Russian emperor visited the military hospital May 22, 1916.

The honorary right to open a memorial plaque was given to the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Savva and the abbot of the temple of Alexander Nevsky Anatoly Kalmyk.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Council Vadim Krasnoselsky with his spouse, the first President of PMR Igor Smirnov, a senior adviser to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova Eugene Guzeev Parliamentarians, residents and visitors.

Fresh flowers laid by the plaque and monument-monogram of Nicholai II.

The celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of the visit of the imperial family in Bendery ended with the opening of the theme art exhibition. The exhibition presented works art students of Bendery branch of the Pridnestrovian State Institute of Arts.
