Pridnestrovie hosts the events dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The most massive events were traditionally held in the capital. The festive parade was held in the main square of Tiraspol, where the personnel of Pridnestrovian Armed Forces, as well as servicemen of the Operational Group of Russian Forces in PMR took part. Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, workers of the rear were honored guests of the holiday. The President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba, Prime Minister Alexander Martynov, deputies of the Supreme Council and heads of ministries and departments, townspeople took part in the celebrations.

Welcoming participants of the parade and all Pridnestrovians, the head of state Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the day of May 9 is forever inscribed in the history of our freedom, freedom of the whole world.

Galina Antyufeeva came to the celebration with a photo of her grandfather, who was killed in the Great Patriotic War. The place of his burial was searched by the family for many years.

The family Dyachenko will carry in “The Immortal regiment” column portraits of his relatives, veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
