Elena Gorodetskaya, "It is unacceptable to change rules of the game during the game"

On the eve of the upcoming presidential elections in the regime of legislative necessity it was proposed to introduce amendments to the Election Code. The author proposes to change the method of making the voters' lists, as well as introduce the practice of affixing the stamp in the passport of a voter on the voting ballot receipt.

Presenting the law-in-draft, a spokesman for the author spoke about the alleged numerous violations during the election campaign, which was the basis for the development of this legislative initiative. According to deputies, developers in such a way are questioning the legitimacy and integrity of the past elections in the republic before.

Elena Gorodetskaya emphasized that there are all the necessary conditions for holding fair and transparent elections in the republic. There is a criminal liability provided for the substitution of the voter lists. Cameras were bought for each polling station; observers, including international will monitor the fairness of elections. The CEC Chairman Elena Gorodetskaya confirmed the words of the Vice-Speaker.

Insisting that it is unacceptable to make changes to the Electoral Code on the eve of elections, the deputies rejected the law-in-draft.
