The economic mechanism of long-standing problems solving

Parliamentarians made another attempt to change the dot to a point on the question of the admissibility of import in Pridnestrovie of used foreign cars. We consider two legislations, each of them offered economic mechanism that avoids the prohibitive measures, but it is a serious filter. Parliamentary committees - in the small, medium-sized businesses and industry - recommended to adopt the law-in-draft of Gregory Dyachenko, who offered to establish a higher rate for all imported cars older than 10 years. But after listening to the alternative proposal of Oleg Vasilaty the establishment of three types of customs duty rates depending on the age group of a car (up to 10 years, from 10 to 14 years and older than 14 years), Gregory Dyachenko withdrew his project.

Government has not changed its principled position on this issue and prepared a negative opinion on the two initiatives. The main reason - is the motorization of society growing. According to Sergei Paraskeva, there were 127 million vehicles in 2011 in the republic, and in 2014 - already 146 thousand. Lawmakers led their counterarguments.

Parliamentarians have their specific answer to the government’s question where to get money for maintenance of roads. The source is the same customs duty, the size of which the deputies propose to increase by allowing the import of foreign cars "used car".

As a result, the proposed changes of Oleg Vasilaty regarding amending the law "On Customs Tariff" were supported by the deputies. The initiative was adopted in the first reading.
