Efimy Koval, "Agriculture provides food independence of the country"

One of the main life-supporting sectors of the economy is agriculture. The agricultural sector is concentrated 246 000 hectares of agricultural land, 203 thousand hectares of arable land. Perennial plantations occupy 24 thousand hectares. Totally agriculture includes about two hundred companies, organizations and institutions. Parliamentarian with 15-year experience, chairman of the Supreme Council of the V convocation on agriculture, transport, construction, natural resources and ecology Efimy Koval told about the realities and prospects of development of the agricultural sector of the republic:

"Agriculture today is not only a profitable sector for business, but the way of life of the population. Methods of its development should be considered comprehensively. If we talk about agriculture as a form of building a business in this sphere it is important to maintain a tariff policy in the sphere of gas, water, heating. Thus, it is important to align the positions of all areas of the agricultural sector. The State must create a long-term program of development of agriculture. Consideration should be given to support both small and large farmers. As regards fiscal policy, it should be transparent and formed on the long term. It also requires pricing policy for irrigation of agricultural land. Unfortunately, there is no clear line of development of agriculture".
