The deputy corps supported in the first reading the initiative of the Government to introduce an amendment to the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic “On the lease of state and municipal property”, which will allow local authorities to apply to unclaimed, inappropriate municipal property a reduction factor of no more than 0.5 upon delivery it's for rent.
The official representative of the Government on the law-in-draft explained that in Tiraspol alone, the area of empty premises unclaimed by tenants is 15,680 thousand square meters. This is almost a quarter of the total number of premises owned by the capital's municipal authorities.
According to the authors of the law-in-draft, the reduction factor will make it possible to attract additional tenants and will allow both the placement of additional social facilities and the elimination of idle time in existing space accordingly.
The criteria by which an object will be recognized as unattractive for investment will be established by local governments, according to the government version of the law-in-draft. Deputies were interested during the discussion of the law-in-draft at the plenary session in what exactly these criteria would be.
The law-in-draft on introducing an amendment to the PMR Law “On the lease of state and municipal property” was unanimously adopted by the deputies in the first reading in the course of the plenary meeting. Work on it will continue in the second reading, taking into account all the comments and suggestions made.
