The Supreme Council adopted amendments and additions to the Law "On Education" in the second final reading, which will create conditions for the introduction of a Unified Information System for Students and Pupils in the Republic. At the suggestion of the Government, the relevant law recorded the basic concepts and goals of the system, and prescribed a list of information necessary for its formation and maintenance.
The Government explained: one of the main goals of the legislative initiative is to receive timely and reliable information about all children in the Republic who are registered in preschool and general education organizations.
Only minors aged 6.5 to 16 years who either permanently reside in the territory of Pridnestrovie or have temporarily arrived in the territory of the republic are subject to mandatory annual registration today, according to the norms set out in the Decree of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. However, it is not possible to effectively monitor and register children who are not citizens of the PMR but are subject to mandatory education in practice.
The system will contain personal data of the student and his parents: full name, date of birth and data on registration at the place of residence or place of stay. This information will be assigned an identification number in accordance with the law "On the Unified Population Register". Access to the system will be limited and available only to a certain circle of officials. The functions of forming and maintaining the Unified Information System of Students and Pupils were assigned to the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The deputies supported the Government's bill in the second final reading at the plenary session. The implementation of the Unified Information System of Students and Pupils is planned for next year.
