The Dubossary rowing school is 60

A solemn meeting which summed up the activities of the sports establishment for 60 years was held in honor of the jubilee of the school last Saturday in the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity. The rowing base in Dubossary since 1958 was the republican center for the preparation of the national team of the MSSR, as well as the venue for competitions and training sessions for athletes of all levels. The school has trained more than 100 masters of sports of the USSR and 15 - international class over the years, the pupils became winners and winners of the USSR championships, world championships and Europe, olympiads.

The staff of the rowing school was congratulated on behalf of the deputy corps with the jubilee by the deputy of the Supreme Council, Petr Pasat. The institution, emphasized the parliamentarian, has brought up thousands of young people, some of whom have forever linked their lives with this sport and glorified Dubossary throughout the world.

A part of the history of the school became coaches, who stood at the source of its foundation and trained hundreds of high-class athletes. The coaches Kachur V.N. and Marchenko V.Ya. became the mentors of world champion of Dmitry Matveyev, two-time Olympic champion Yuri Filatov and European champion Sergei Golovko. Coach Anatoly Kravchenko prepared champion of Europe Alexander Tanasiev. 120 athletes received the deserved title of masters of sports of the USSR. Today, 12 teachers work in the school of the Olympic reserve, which continue to educate a new generation of champions.

The best trainers-teachers, as well as the staff of the institution were awarded with state awards and diplomas for many years of work and contribution to the development of the rowing school. A festive concert for the heroes of the anniversary was organized by the creative teams and the Department of Culture.
