32 years have passed since the creation of the Republican Guard company in Dubossary. A memorial rally was held at the Dubossary Military Glory Memorial. It was attended by the PMR Supreme Council Deputy for constituency No. 11 “Central” Boris German, Deputy Chairman of the Dubossary Council of People’s Deputies Vladislav Kelyukh, Chairman of the Republican public organization “Union of Veterans of the Republican Guard of Pridnestrovie” Viktor Katareu, Head of the Dubossary District Department of Internal Affairs Petr Pasha, veterans of the Republican public organization "Union of Veterans of the Republican Guard of Pridnestrovie", representatives of other parties and public organizations.
Victor Catareu thanked his comrades who came to Dubossary in 1991-1992 to help and assist in the defense of the young state. These are fighters from the Republican Guard battalions of Tiraspol and Rybnitsa.
Deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR Boris German congratulated the Dubossary guardsmen on behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. He noted that when the guard was formed, those who went through Afghanistan and had combat experience joined it first. Residents of Pridnestrovie without combat experience joined its ranks. They had to learn in combat conditions.
The rally participants honored the memory of the fallen and deceased defenders of Pridnestrovie with a minute of silence and laid fresh flowers at their graves.
An independent company of the Republican Guard in Dubossary was created on September 29, 1991 by order No. 4 of the PMR Chairman Defense and Security Committee “On the creation of the department and units of the Republican Guard”. It was reorganized into a battalion in February 1992.
The guardsmen defended the young state in the most difficult directions where fighting took place – the Koshnitsky bridgehead, the dam of the Dubossary hydroelectric station, the Kochiery direction. 14 guardsmen were killed during the armed aggression of Moldova against Pridnestrovie in Dubossary.
