Memory of the soldiers-liberators was honored at the Memorial of Military Glory in Dubossary. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Alexander Korshuno, and Deputy, representing the interests of the citizens of Dubossary Peter Pasat. 81 Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of the city from the German-Romanian occupiers are buried on the sacred place for each inhabitant of Dubossary, defenders of Pridnestrovie, who laid down their heads in 1992 are buried.
April 12 is a memorable date for all Pridnestrovians, one of the most significant days in the history of the city. This day, April 12, 1944, thanks to the courage and heroism of the Red Army soldiers Dubasari were freed from the German-Romanian invaders.
On this day there are a lot of young people at the memorial. Schoolchildren know how the city was liberated from books and veterans' stories. 18 thousand civilians were shot just for being of different nationality. Over 4.5 thousand Soviet soldiers and officers were killed in the battles for Dubossary and the area.
The main characters at the festival were veterans of the Great Patriotic War. They shared their memories of the military past, the time when the Dubassary were under occupation for three years.
Andrei Orlov told that the history of the 25th Guards Rifle Division helped him study the archives of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. He tells his sons and grandchildren about this and his grandfather.
The meeting participants honored the memory of the Soviet soldiers who died in the battles for the liberation of Dubossary, a minute of silence. Fresh flowers lay on the marble slabs.
