The city's day is celebrated in Dubossary today. The patroness of the city of Dubossary is the Monk Paraskeva of Serbia. There was a prayer service, which was served by the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Savva in honor of the saint in the central square of the city. Then a solemn ceremony of raising the flag of the PMR and the banner of the city took place.

The President noted that Dubossary is a multinational, multicultural city in which the history of empires and states at different times located on the banks of the Dniester.

Dubossary is a city with a centuries-old, glorious history. Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba supposes that the main quality that unites modern Dubossary and their heroic ancestors is diligence.

Leaders of the republic handed state awards to the honored workers of Dubossary for the contribution to the development of the city. There were technologists, teachers, seamstresses, doctors, businessmen, public men among those who received state awards on a holiday. Then, almost 30 young people received from the hands of the president the first main document - the passport of the PMR.

After that, the meeting participants went to the Memorial Complex of Military Glory. As it was noted many times today, the Dubossary always defended their land with courage. They fought fearlessly against the fascists during the Great Patriotic War. Dubossary took the first blow of the Moldovan aggressors in 1992. Undeclared war claimed the lives of 156 defenders of the city of Dubossary. Leaders of the republic, veterans and townspeople laid flowers on the slabs of the heroes.

National farmsteads along the central street of Dubossary waited for guests and residents of the city. Speaker Alexander Shcherba and parliamentarians appreciated the achievements of the national economy of Dubossary and Dubossary district.
