The residents of the city gathered at the building of the state administration of Dubossary and Dubossary district today to remember and honor the memory of 8 heads of enterprises and organizations of the city. They died on July 6, 1992 during the military aggression of the Republic of Moldova against Pridnestrovie.
The ceremony was attended by the relatives of the victims, city and district leaders, deputy of the PMR Supreme Council Boris German, and representatives of the public.
Residents of Dubossary recalled how a tragedy occurred 29 years ago on the threshold of the building of the City Council. The heads of enterprises and organizations went out onto the porch of the building after a regular meeting, at which the issues of life support of the city and villages of the district during the period of the armed conflict were discussed. At this time, they were hit by a shell from a large-caliber gun. Rafael Gareev, Ilya Guritsenko, Vyacheslav Dodul, Gennady Kuznetsov, Natalia Lupolova, Galina Marchenko, Stepan Pokotilo, Vasily Radovsky were killed.
Residents of Dubossary honored the memory of the dead leaders with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the granite sign installed at the site of the tragedy. Then the flower-laying ceremony took place at the Memorial of Military Glory at the graves of the dead.
