Deputies of the Supreme Council at once in two readings adopted amendments to the law "On Public Associations." The law-in-draft was prepared for consideration by the parliamentary committee on public associations, sports, information and youth policy.

Earlier, the profile committee set the task to simplify the activities of public organizations in terms of reporting. Last year, the Supreme Council adopted serious laws that made it possible to simplify the reporting procedure and the number of documents submitted.

In accordance with the current legislation, non-profit organizations are obliged to submit annual reports containing information on the size, sources of received funds and other property, including received from foreign sources, and on their actual expenditure and use. Due to the fact that public associations are non-profit organizations, they are forced to submit the same statements twice to the tax and registration authorities.

The proposed law-in-draft proposed to optimize reporting procedures by eliminating duplication of the same type of information that they provide to various bodies of state executive power.

To date, more than three thousand public associations are registered in the republic.
