By-elections in the constituency of Parkany

In connection with the death of parliamentarian Ivan Nedelkov, the Supreme Council adopted a resolution in the course of the plenary meeting on the early termination of the deputy’s powers. The decision was made on the basis of paragraph 3 of Article 4 of the Constitutional Law of the PMR “On the status of a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.”

In this regard, the numerical and personal composition of the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex, Industry, Transport, Construction and Natural Resources, of which Ivan Nedelkov was a member, was changed.

According to paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 92-1 of the PMR Election Code, the parliament decided to call additional elections for a deputy of the Supreme Council of the VII convocation in electoral district No. 24 “Parkansky”. They will be held on March 31, 2024, residents of the villages of Parkany and Blizhny Khutor in Slobodzeya district will vote.

Parliamentarian Ivan Nedelkov passed away due to illness on December 13, he was 59 years old. Ivan Vasilyevich was a participant in the fighting to defend the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. He worked in agriculture: first he worked as a mechanic on a collective farm in the village of Parkany, then founded an agricultural enterprise that grows grains, was engaged in milling and produces sunflower oil. Ivan Nedelkov was awarded the Certificate of the President of the PMR, the medal “For Labor Valor”, and the Order of Honor. He was named “Person of the Year” in the “Entrepreneurship” category in 2009. Ivan Nedelkov was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of the VI and VII convocations. He initiated legislations related to the development of the agro-industrial complex of the republic in the Parliamentary Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex, Industry, Transport, Construction and Natural Resources.
