The Supreme Council approved the Decree of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the extension of the state of emergency in the economy until the 20th of April inclusive. The decision was made today in the course of the 3rd Extraordinary Plenary Session of the Parliament.
According to the norms of the Constitutional Law of the PMR "On Special Legal Regimes", the duration of the state of emergency introduced throughout the territory of Pridnestrovie cannot exceed 30 (thirty days). Economic emergency in the territory of Pridnestrovie was established at the end of October 2022 for the first time due to a sharp decrease in Moldova's volumes of natural gas supplies from Russia. The industry could not work in normal volumes, the heat supply organizations and the MGRES, which generates electricity from gas, experienced a shortage. The situation with supplies improved in December, but Pridnestrovie continues to receive less of the necessary amount of "blue fuel" for the normal and stable functioning of industry and heat supply organizations. The state of emergency in the economy, according to the Decree of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, was extended several times. Now the state of emergency is valid until March 31 inclusive. The deputies of the Supreme Council at the 3rd emergency meeting unanimously supported the Decree of the President of the PMR on the extension of the state of emergency in the economy on the territory of Pridnestrovie until April 20, 2023 inclusive.
