Parliamentarians in the second reading continued to work on amendments to the Law "On Road Safety". In the original version of the law-in-draft, its authors, deputies of the Supreme Council Viktor Guzun, Vadim Doni, Vadim Kravchuk and Andrei Mezhinsky proposed changing the rules for public transport and passenger transportation. The deputies supported the initiative of the colleagues-deputies, allowing a minibus to transport up to five passengers during peak hours, enter and exit of passengers of a minibus and a passenger taxi under the sign "stop is prohibited", as well as the use of taxi drivers along with a taximeter mobile application.
During the plenary session, parliamentarians reviewed the amendments to the law-in-draft. In particular, the relevant committee on agro-industrial complex, transport, construction, natural resources and ecology proposed an amendment concerning the replacement of a driving license issued in another state with a Pridnestrovian one, if the validity period has expired. In the opinion of the deputies of the responsible committee, this category of drivers can get a driving license PMR, passing the qualification exam without training. This equates drivers with rights - the authors of the amendment believe. When discussing the issue, the deputies debated whether there was a need to confirm the right to drive the exam if the driving license was overdue. As a result of the exchange of views, most of the deputies voted to adopt the amendment.
In order to take into account all the received comments and proposals, the law-in-draft will continue to be considered in the second reading mode.
