For the convenience of citizens

Parliamentarians in the final reading adopted amendments in the field of migration and registration. They are associated with a change in the address of a property based on a decision of a local government body. The corresponding legislations were initiated by the President Vadim Krasnoselsky as he received appeals after the renaming of 25 October Street to Pokrovskaya.

For the convenience of citizens, Pridnestrovians or foreign citizens will not need to submit an application and documents for re-registration in the event of a change in the address of residence or place of stay (based on a decision of a local government body). Registration and migration authorities will carry out this procedure themselves and inform citizens about deregistration and registration at a new place of residence (place of stay).

Amendments were made to the laws “On migration registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the PMR” and “On the right of PMR citizens to freedom of movement, choice of place of stay and residence within the PMR”, taking into account clarifying amendments of the relevant Committee on Legislation, Protection of the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens.

The new provisions will come into force on the day following the day of official publication upon the signing.
