The Supreme Council adopted in the first reading the legislations regulating the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. Changes to the current legislation in the mode of legislative necessity were sent by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The Air Code prescribes the concepts of what an unmanned aircraft and an unmanned aerial system are. The laws regulating the work of law enforcement agencies will include norms that allow law enforcement agencies to stop the illegal presence of unmanned aerial vehicles in the airspace. At the suggestion of the Government, the powers to control and supervise the use of airspace will be transferred to the President. Vadim Krasnoselsky by his decree banned the use of unmanned aerial vehicles without prior approval from the Ministry of State Security of the PMR earlier, due to terrorist acts committed on the territory of Pridnestrovie.
The deputies noted at the plenary session that today unmanned aerial vehicles, in particular remotely piloted aircrafts, are used in agriculture and other areas of life. Therefore, all issues related to the use of remotely piloted aircrafts will be settled by the second reading. For example, the Committee on Legislation, Protection of the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens will prepare amendments that propose not to register remotely piloted aircrafts weighing up to 30 kg. Similar rules apply in Russian legislation.
The profile committee will continue to work on legislations regulating the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. The deputies of the Supreme Council plan to consider the initiatives in the second reading at the next plenary session on June 2.
