The quarantine measures in Pridnestrovie have been extended until April 1. The President of the PMR proposed the corresponding legislative changes. They were adopted today by the Supreme Council in the course of the plenary online meeting.
The state of emergency was introduced in Pridnestrovie on March 17, 2020. Quarantine restrictions have been in effect since mid-June. They have been extended several times. According to the current law, quarantine in the republic is valid until February 1. it was decided to extend the quarantine for two months in view of the unfavorable covid statistics.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 27 thousand 955 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the republic as for morning of the 20th of January. 19 thousand 668 people recovered, 562 Pridnestrovians died. On the 18th of January, 126 samples were examined in the Pridnestrovian laboratories. 59 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been identified.
Restrictive measures will continue in the republic after the signing of the adopted law. These are mask mode, social distance, fines for violating quarantine, special border crossing procedures and other measures.
Deputies of the Supreme Council raised the issue of vaccination of Pridnestrovians against coronavirus at the plenary session. It was noted that Pridnestrovie has an agreement with Russia to provide a vaccine. The special representative of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for migration and citizenship Konstantin Zatulin yesterday at the first meeting of the spring session of the State Duma of the Russian Federation made a proposal to appeal to the Government of the Russian Federation on this issue.
The issue of supplying the Russian vaccine to our republic was resolved during the working visit of the PMR President to Moscow. The topic of vaccination was discussed in the course of the meeting with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak. The date of receipt of the vaccine will be announced later. It is planned that the first 30 thousand doses will be used to vaccinate doctors, teachers and representatives of the republic's security forces.
