The Supreme Council adopted the state target program "Development Strategy of the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University" last year To improve the efficiency of the main university of the republic. It is designed for five years and will be valid until 2023. The program concerns the improvement of the material and technical base of the university, educational, scientific, methodological processes, strengthening the personnel potential of the university, supporting youth programs and projects.
PSU submitted a report to the parliament how the state program was implemented last year. It notes that new educational technologies have been introduced into the educational process. The university has switched to educational standards of a new generation. 239 university teachers improved their qualifications. As for increasing the efficiency of scientific research, new requirements have been introduced for them. 28 research topics of research laboratories were approved and one new research laboratory was opened. 5 projects of scientific developments of the university were sent to the Investment Agency of the republic.
Teachers and staff of the state university are constantly improving their qualifications. Today, over 300 people (over 27%) have an academic degree.
Information technology is also being developed at PSU. Now university employees use electronic document management, educational and scientific activities can also take place in electronic format.
PSU expands its international activities. Effective cooperation with the specialized departments of the State Duma of the Russian Federation continues. We interact with the Federal Agency for Commonwealth of Independent States, compatriots living abroad, and international humanitarian cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), as well as with partner universities within the framework of the Russian-Pridnestrovian consortium of universities. As a result of such cooperation, 18 young teachers entered the postgraduate study of higher educational institutions in Russia on a budgetary basis in 2019.
