The Supreme Council issued a statement on the need to take urgent measures to prevent humanitarian catastrophe in Pridnestrovie. The adoption of the relevant Resolution of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was caused by the ongoing energy and humanitarian crisis caused by the cessation of Russian gas supplies to the republic.
"We adopted this document so that the entire world community, all participants in energy supplies in the world could hear us, our people. The deputies of the Supreme Council are representatives of the people. We are facing a humanitarian crisis. Kindergartens are closed today, a number of hospitals are not working, clinics are practically stopped, that is, social facilities are practically working in a very intense mode, and some of them are already closed,” said the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov.
The speaker of the parliament said that the energy crisis in the very near future risks developing into humanitarian catastrophe.
The Chairman of the Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Galina Antyufeeva noted that the statement reflects the position of the Pridnestrovian parliament on the situation in the republic
“The situation is very difficult, it concerns absolutely all residents of Pridnestrovie, our citizens. We see how difficult the situation is for our pensioners, large families, single mothers, those who were not ready for the energy crisis. A large number of requests for assistance are received from deputies. This applies to our enterprises, which have obligations to others and are obliged to fulfill them. We understand that the situation is getting worse every day. Therefore, today's statement is first of all an appeal to the world community, to all those who can help resolve today's problem – unblock the gas supply to Pridnestrovie. We believe and hope that this problem will be resolved, we are worried together with our residents, because absolutely everyone is in this situation. I hope that we will be heard," said Galina Antyufeeva.
The deputies of the Supreme Council are in constant contact with their voters in the districts in the difficult conditions of the energy crisis.
"We know like no one else what problems people are facing. I am a deputy of the Supreme Council for electoral district No. 30 "Kirovsky". This is the private sector of the city of Tiraspol. People installed gas, bought gas boilers and removed the stoves for heating at one time. This urban population living in the private sector is left without heating today. They are cut off from electricity. There are lonely pensioners, bedridden people who cannot warm themselves. We help, send them to warming points. There are elderly people who do not want to leave their home. They freeze,” said Grigory Dyachenko, deputy of the Supreme Council of the PMR for electoral district No. 30 “Kirovskiy”.
Our republic has faced one of the most serious crises in its history. Consolidation of society is more important than ever in such a situation, considers the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov.
“There are many tasks, we will solve them all. It must be said that we will be able to solve all the tasks only if we unite the efforts of all citizens of the PMR. Consolidation of society is needed. Dear citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, we must believe in the best, follow the recommendations generated by the Operational Headquarters. I am sure that we will honorably go through this path in the history of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic,” said the Speaker of the Pridnestrovian Parliament, addressing the residents of the republic.
