The State Customs Committee of Pridnestrovie reported on its activities for 2022. Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov, Vice Speaker Galina Antyufeeva and head of the relevant parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance Viktor Guzun took part in the online meeting of the board of the department.
The planned activities and tasks defined by the legislation were implemented by the customs authorities in 2022. Negative external factors complicated logistics and led to restrictions in the field of foreign economic activity with countries that are importers of Pridnestrovian products. External trade has declined. The chairman of the State Customs Committee Valentin Grabko emphasized in his report that the indicator on income to the republican budget was achieved by 97% of the planned despite external factors. It is less than last year by 7%, but exceeds the pre-pandemic limits.
The country's leadership took a number of measures, including exemption from customs duties to support economic agents last year. For example, more than 10 million dollars were granted benefits under the "import customs duty" article. Including almost 4 million dollars – these are benefits for the payment of "import customs duty" provided to organizations that imported goods for use in the technological process, the website of the State Customs Committee of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic reports.
Work to improve customs legislation was carried out.
According to the Head of the department, the expansion of the list of customs procedures available for electronic clearance and strengthening the dialogue with the business community remained a priority for the work of the State Customs Committee in 2022. Yury Cheban, Head of the Union of Industrialists Agrarians and Entrepreneurs of Pridnestrovie, positively assessed the joint work of the customs authorities and business and voiced a number of proposals for further improving the activities of the Pridnestrovian customs.
