Today, the traditional "Dugout" was not as usual, in the park of the Tiraspol United Museum. Due to the rainy weather, a veranda became the meeting place for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, combatants, home front workers, widows and children of the war. The schoolchildren were responsible for the celebration, they gave them bouquets of spring flowers. President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, representatives of the city administration, public organizations came to congratulate the veterans on the upcoming Victory Day. On the eve of the Great Victory, the participants remembered the war years, talked about the feat of the Soviet soldier.
This day, they recalled those who did not return from the front, who died from wounds and diseases. Wishes for health and well-being sounded to the address of the veterans. The joy of the victory was shared with Pridnestrovians and guests from the Russian Federation.
"Dugout" was accompanied by songs of the war years. They were performed by the creative teams of the Tiraspol culture department. Not without rewards. On behalf of the Council of Veterans of the Russian Federation, the former Head of Tiraspol Viktor Kostyrko presented a memorable badge to the Deputy Chairman of the Veterans Council Valentina Nikitina in honor of the centenary of the Russian Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army.
Boris Shifrin, a veteran of military service, met the Great Victory by a five-year-old child. Father told him about the war. Boris Schifrin decided to connect his life with military affairs. He graduated from the Odessa Anti-Aircraft Artillery School, served under Koenigsberg. As an officer, he graduated from the Minsk Higher Engineering School.
Tiraspol residents and guests of the city could not only remember the military songs, but also taste the soldier’s porridge at the traditional “Dugout”.
