Birthday of one of the oldest cities of Pridnestrovie

The northernmost city of Pridnestrovie celebrated its 415th birthday. The leadership of the republic came to congratulate the people of Kamenka: Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Alexander Rozenberg, Chairman of the PMR Government, Valery Babchinetsky, deputy of parliament for the electoral district Number 12 "Kamenka", heads of ministries and departments, as well as heads of state administrations of cities and regions of the republic.

The program of events dedicated to the anniversary of the city of Kamenka began early in the morning with a festive liturgy in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Further, the arena of festive actions moved to the Park of Peter Wittgenstein. The guests of honor laid flowers at the Memorial of Glory and at the portrait sculpture of Count Peter Khristianovich Wittgenstein, walked around the national courtyards, viewed the exhibitions of institutions, enterprises and organizations of Kamenka, which unfolded throughout the park.

The program of festive events continued with a solemn meeting, at which the heads of the legislative and executive authorities presented state awards to outstanding residents of Kamenka. Diplomas and letters of thanks from the hands of the leaders of the republic were received by the best workers of educational and medical institutions, public organizations and industrial enterprises of the city.

The head of Kamenka state administration noted how much the city has changed in recent years. Two schools, three kindergartens, a district House of Culture, an art school and a house for children and youth creativity, and a Central District Hospital have been repaired and landscaped only within the framework of the program of the Capital Investment Fund for 5 years. A large amount of work was also done in the park of Peter Khristianovich Wittgenstein.

The deputies of the Supreme Council help to make Kamenka and the villages of Kamenka district more comfortable and cozier for life. So, street lamps were purchased at the expense of the Voter Orders Fund at the constituency Number 13 Khrustovskaya last year.

The 28th of August was declared a non-working day in honor of the anniversary of the city. Not only residents of the city came, but also residents of almost all settlements of the region enjoy the concert program "Happy birthday, Kamenka!"

Sports relay races and competitions were held for everyone. A whole alley of entertainment was organized for children. The whole day was spent in celebration in Wittgenstein Park. There were mass celebrations for the townspeople and guests of Kamenka in the evening on the square of the 60th anniversary of October.
