Birthday of the main university of the republic

Pridnestrovian State University is 89.

The solemn meeting on this occasion was attended by representatives of state authorities, the faculty of the university, PSU students.

In his speech, PSU rector Stepan Beryl recalled how the university developed and transformed over the years. The traditions laid down by Soviet scientists at its foundation, fundamental science and a high level of teaching made the university a major research and educational center, known not only in our republic, but also far beyond its borders.

Today, State University is a modern university that provides high-quality and popular education on the labor market, implements a wide range of programs, and is actively involved in the country's public life.

New specialties are being opened at PSU, educational and methodological work is being improved, scientific research is being conducted, and international relations are developing.

The main directions of development of the main university of the republic are fixed in the provisions of the strategy. The state target program was adopted by the Supreme Council this year and is designed for five years. Among the main directions of the strategy are the training of personnel corresponding to the state’s needs, the innovative activity of the university, creation of active scientific environment, interaction with Russian research centers, and the material and technical equipment of the university.

The measures planned in the strategy are designed to strengthen the position of PSU as a leading research, cultural and educational center of Pridnestrovie.

It was repeatedly emphasized at the solemn event that the university is rightfully proud of unique scientific schools and developments, talented students, highly qualified teachers and graduates, among which there are many famous scientific, public and political figures, leaders, diplomatic workers.
