Victory Day in Slobodzeya

Solemn meetings and the laying of flowers at the eternal flame were held on Victory Day in both parts of the city of Slobodzeya at the Memorials of Glory. The PMR Supreme Council Deputy of the constituency No. 21 "Slobodzeya" Pavel Shinkaryuk speaking at the rally thanked the participants of the Great Patriotic War and wished all those present good health and a peaceful sky over their heads.

Special words of congratulations and wishes were addressed to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War on Victory Day. Two veterans live in the town of Slobodzeya today: Gavril Evstafievich Nastasenko and Zinaida Petrovna Savenko. They, as well as the concentration camp prisoner Vera Andreevna Yuvchenko and the survivor of the blockade of Leningrad, Tamara Valentinovna Vedeneva, were congratulated on Victory Day by a representative delegation, which included the leaders of the district, deputies, military men, soloists of the district House of Culture. The veterans were presented with flowers, postcards, memorable gifts, a concert right in the courtyard of the house and, most importantly, a huge gratitude for the peace and warmth of their hearts.

Deputy of the Supreme Council for constituency No. 21 "Slobodzeya" Pavel Shinkaryuk, Chairman of the Council of People's Deputies of Slobodzeya District and Slobodzeya Tatyana Zalevskaya, deputies of the District City Council Andrey Nagorny, Viktor Diligul, Vladimir Tsaran, Vasily Tatarchuk, Mikhail Bocharuk, Natalya Maka visited the home of war veterans and home front workers living in Slobodzeya on May 8 and 9. These were touching and quivering meetings, small in time, but strong emotionally, filling with good, leaving a deep mark and will be remembered forever. The deputies visited more than 40 addresses in total.
