Victory Day was celebrated in the towns and regions of Pridnestrovie. Deputies of the Supreme Council paid tribute to the memory of Soviet soldiers.
Flowers were laid at the Memorials of Glory to the Russian and Moldovan parts of the city in Slobodzeya. The deputy of the Supreme Council Pavel Shinkaryuk took part in the commemorative events.
“Victory Day is a sacred holiday. It is in the heart of everyone, in every family, in every home. It is national pride, respect and gratitude. We are faced with the important task of preserving and passing on to the younger generation the true history of the Great Patriotic War today”, said Pavel Shinkaryuk.
The parliamentarian for constituency No. 21 "Slobodzeya" Pavel Shinkaryuk, together with the Chairman of the Slobodzeya District City Council Tatyana Zalevskaya and the deputies according to the established tradition on this day congratulated the residents of the city, who contributed to the Great Victory, having survived the terrible years of the Second World War. Home front workers, Tamara Valentinovna Vedeneva, a siege of Leningrad, and Vera Andreevna Yuvchenko, a prisoner of fascist concentration camps, live in Slobodzeya. The deputies thanked them for their steadfastness, fortitude, valiant work, and wished them good health and a peaceful sky.
Wartime songs were sung for veterans. Outdoor concerts were held in the villages of Chobruchi, Parkany, the village of Krasnoye.
Vasily Vladimirovich Kuzenko lives in Chobruchi. He was part of the Leningrad Front and took part in the battles in the Baltic. He was awarded the medal "For Courage" and the Order of the Patriotic War II degree.
Member of the Great Patriotic War - Grigory Alekseevich Shirin from the village of Krasnoe. He fought in the Primorsky Territory as part of a separate division of minesweepers of the North Pacific Flotilla. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree.
Fedor Mikhailovich Stoyanov from the village of Parkany is the only participant in the Yassy-Chisinau operation in the Slobodzeya region. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree.
The Head of the Slobodzeya state administration Vasily Tishchenko noted that two Heroes of the Soviet Union made a great contribution to the Victory: Sergei Bolgarin from Korotnoy and Fedor Ugnachev from Slobodzeya, two full cavaliers of the Order of Glory: Anton Chichik from Karagash and Pyotr Yemelyanov from Slobodzeya.
The leaders of the city and the region, deputies of the Supreme Council Valentin Matveychuk, Vasily Kunitsky, Yakov Galak, Andrey Safonov, Vadim Kravchuk laid flowers at the memorial sign to Major General Konstantin Tsvetkov in Rybnitsa. The offensive of the units of the 41st Guards Rifle Division was completed under the command of Konstantin Tsvetkov, in the spring of 1944, as a result of which Rybnitsa and the Rybnitsa region were completely liberated from the German-Romanian invaders.
The memory of those who did not return from the battlefields was honored with a minute of silence at the Memorial of Glory.
Veterans of the Great Patriotic War were congratulated on Victory Day and a festive concert was organized for them on a mobile stage.
