Day of Remembrance for those killed in radiation accidents and disasters

26.04.2024

Dear Pridnestrovians!

38 years have passed since the whole world shuddered from the largest man-made disaster that occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

A huge release of radioactive substances into the atmosphere occurred as a result of this accident, causing irreparable damage to the environment and human health.

Pridnestrovian rescuers took part in the rescue work; there were 1837 of them. These are real heroes who eliminated the consequences of the disaster without sparing their lives.

The tragic events of April 26, 1986 once again showed how fragile our world is, how carefully we need to treat nuclear energy and the development of the peaceful atom.

Dear Pridnestrovians! We will never forget the feat and heroism of the liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Their memory will forever remain in our hearts.

I wish all the participants in the liquidation of the accident good health and all the best to you and your loved ones!

Chairman of the Supreme Council

of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
