Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders of the PMR

01.08.2024

Dear Pridnestrovians!

August 1 is a special, important and revered date for the entire Pridnestrovians people. August 1 has been officially declared in the republic as the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen and Dead Defenders of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. This is essentially the date of the end of the bloody war, Moldova's aggression against the peaceful people of Pridnestrovie. They tried to strangle us, but we stood firm, proving that no force, no pressure can break our will and desire to be free on our land.

The whole Pridnestrovie remembers with a feeling of deep sorrow the brave defenders, the heroes who gave their lives for the independence of our state.

Hundreds of lives of civilians of the republic taken, about one and a half thousand wounded, dozens of missing, pain, bitterness of loss of dear and close to the heart people, destroyed houses, schools, kindergartens – this is the price at which we got our freedom.

Russian peacekeepers played a special and important role in ending the bloodshed on the Dniester, who gave us hope for peace, security and stability.

We live a peaceful and happy life, study, work, raise children today thanks to our heroic defenders and Russian peacekeepers. Our task is to always remember at what price this freedom was obtained, to remember and pass on this historical truth to the next generations of citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

A deep bow and eternal memory to all those who returned peace to our Motherland at the cost of their own lives. Our heroes will live forever in our hearts!
