Day of Remembrance and Glory of Internationalist Soldiers

Dear internationalist soldiers,

veterans of the Afghan war!

Today we pay tribute to the participants in international armed conflicts for their sense of duty, courage and bravery.

The war in Afghanistan is one of the most tragic pages of history. This armed conflict lasted almost 10 years. 550 thousand Soviet soldiers and officers fulfilled their international duty on Afghan soil. They fought heroically true to their military oath, demonstrating their best qualities: patriotism, devotion and loyalty to the Fatherland, high civic consciousness. There were among the internationalist soldiers more than two thousand Pridnestrovians, the lives of 54 of our compatriots were taken by the war. Our civic duty is to remember the departed and to help including at the legislative level the living and the families of those lost.

I am confident that the heroism, courage and bravery of the internationalist soldiers will continue to be an example of selfless service to their homeland for the younger generation of Pridnestrovians.

On Remembrance Day, we bow our heads to the departed, honor their bright memory and express our sincere condolences to those who have lost their loved ones.

With all my heart I wish you health, happiness, prosperity and a peaceful sky above your head!
