Remembrance and Glory of Internationalist Soldiers Day

Dear veterans of the war in Afghanistan!

I am addressing you on behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the occasion of a memorable date – the Day of Remembrance and Glory of Internationalist Soldiers!

The 15th of February 1989 is a special day for internationalist soldiers who fulfilled their military duty with honor and dignity. The last column of Soviet troops left the territory of Afghanistan and for everyone who participated in the fighting on Afghan soil on this day, the war that lasted almost 10 years ended.

Years have passed and will pass, but the Afghan war will always remain a heroic and tragic page of history in our memory, because it was written with the blood of soldiers and the tears of mothers, obelisks and stars on graves. We will always cherish their memory.

A low bow for courage and perseverance, fearlessness and dedication to those who were in battle. The younger generation is proud of your exploits, which serve as an example of courage and patriotism for them.
