Dear Pridnestrovians!
Dear residents of Bendery!
The 19th of June in Pridnestrovie is the Day of Memory and Sorrow. Our people pay tribute to the victims of the Bendery tragedy, from which 32 years have passed, but the events of those terrible times will remain in the memory of Pridnestrovians forever. The bloodiest action of Moldova against the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic began on this day, shocking with its senseless cruelty. The armed aggression against the Pridnestrovian state was carried out by the authorities of official Kishinev under the slogan of “establishing constitutional order”. Hundreds of civilians died in those terrible days in Bendery.
Bowing our heads in memory of the victims and remembering their heroic feat, we must do everything necessary to ensure that this tragedy never happens again. Our duty is to preserve peace and tranquility in the republic, to live in mutual understanding and harmony.
Pridnestrovie looks today to the future with purpose and confidence despite the unsettled nature of Pridnestrovian-Moldavian relations and existing difficulties. The basis of this confidence is the courage and resilience of Pridnestrovians, pride in the past and responsibility for the future.
Let the bright memory of all the victims of this war be good deeds and initiatives aimed at strengthening the statehood of Pridnestrovie, for the benefit of every resident of our republic!
Peace, tranquility and prosperity to all residents of Pridnestrovie!
Eternal memory to the fallen!
Chairman of the Supreme Council
of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
