Day of Remembrance and Sorrow for the Fallen and Deceased Defenders of the PMR

01.08.2022

Dear Pridnestrovians and

defenders of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic!

We mourn the heroes who defended the freedom and independence of our native republic every year, on August 1.

The events of 1992 will forever remain in our memory, the pain from the loss of dear and close people will not be erased, the feat will forever remain in our hearts. We will never forget the price paid for the freedom of future generations of Pridnestrovians.

Pridnestrovians did not want war. It was perceived from the very beginning as something absolutely unnatural, incompatible with good relations between the inhabitants of the two coasts, yesterday's citizens of one country.

Civilians became victims of armed actions, battles were fought on the streets of Pridnestrovian villages and cities from the day of the first provocations to the last day of the war.

The bloody slaughter on both banks of the Dniester was stopped 30 years ago. The most precious thing for a person is life, and our defenders, without hesitation, sacrificed it for the happiness and prosperity of their homeland.

The grief brought by the war only united the inhabitants of the Republic more strongly, who defended the right to live in a multinational, legal, democratic state, in which people have never been divided and will never be divided “according to grades”, in which three languages are official at once – Moldavian, Russian, Ukrainian.

May every citizen, every resident of Pridnestrovie keep a bright memory of the heroic deeds of ordinary people who did not lose their heads, did not fall into despair at a difficult moment, but retained their fighting spirit and stood up for their native fatherland, having won for us a peaceful, bright sky and a wonderful future. Blessed memory of the fallen heroes, glory to the living heroes!

of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
