292 years later Pridnestrovian intellectuals gathered at the round table to discuss the problems and prospects of development of science in the republic, enjoy the achievements, to identify priority plans. The candidate of geographical sciences, teacher, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Culture Mikhail Burla, his deputy Ilona Tyuryaeva, members of the Tiraspol City Council, and representatives of the scientific community were participating in the discussion.

Candidate of Cultural Sciences Nikolai Dimchenko raised a serious problem. He spoke about the importance of a regional component in the learning process of pupils and students of different directions, as well as the lack of necessary literature.

It was said during the round table on the positive and negative trends in the development of modern science, that need to improve social status and acquaint young people to the scientific activities. The question of cooperation with the state was raised: the participants of the meeting consider that it forms much more than is used today.
