On June 19, events commemorating the fallen defenders of Pridnestrovie and the victims of the armed conflict on the Dniester 1990–1992 take place throughout the country. Memorial meeting took place at the Memorial of Glory in Tiraspol to commemorate the tragic events of those years. Real flowers to the graves of the fallen were laid by the defenders of the republic, families of the victims, the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva, her colleagues in the deputy corps, representatives of ministries and departments, public organizations, residents and guests of the capital.

On June 19, 1992, bloody battles broke out between the militia and Moldovan armed groups for control of the city of Bendery. The history of these events included Bendery tragedy. Its victims were hundreds of people, hundreds more were injured. About 100 thousand people were forced to leave the city, becoming refugees. Thousands of houses, dozens of enterprises and institutions were damaged. This date for all Pridnestrovians is one of the most mournful in the history of our state. The invasion of our land by the aggressor broke the fate of many people. These days, the defenders of Pridnestrovie showed courage and bravery: the militia, the Cossacks, the Delta battalion and civilians. The war interrupted 628 human lives, among them 66 citizens of Tiraspol. Their feat will forever remain in the memory of the people.

Thanks to the defenders the independence of Pridnestrovie was defended. This is especially true today, when the world is so restless, when old people, women and children are dying. The republic remembers this, they know the price of peace and tranquility. The feat of defenders will remain in people's memory forever. As long as we remember their names, they live in our memory. June 19th is a day of reminders that the living now have to do everything to preserve peace for the sake of future generations.

A minute of silence ... Fresh flowers were laid down on the marble slabs of the Memorial of Glory, to the commemorative stele, the Eternal Flame and the monument to the Grieving Mother. Balloons flew into the high sky - a sign of memory and deep respect for the defenders, a symbol of peace and freedom.
