The Central Election Commission of the PMR has prepared several thematic events for the Day of the Young Voter. One of them is an online tour. One could watch short videos about the main stages of the formation and development of the electoral process in Pridnestrovie, get acquainted with copies and originals of archival copies of the Pridnestrovian Constitution, the Electoral Code, ballots, campaign materials of candidates, conclusions of international observers and photographs. Members of the Youth Election Commission prepared 12 such videos.
The Head of the PMR CEC Elena Gorodetskaya spoke about the importance of the young generation in the political life of our republic.
Elena Gorodetskaya added that the President of the PMR authored law-in-draft on the creation of youth election commissions in 2018. More than 150 active, initiative young people hold events with schoolchildren, young voters, and raise their professional level in Pridnestrovie at the moment. Young people get the opportunity in various forums and quests to improve their competencies and see that they can become more interesting and in-demand personalities.
Representatives of the Central Election Commission held an online quiz on electoral law and the electoral process in Pridnestrovie. It took place on the Instagram social network on the official page of the Youth Election Commission. More than 500 young Pridnestrovians took part in the online quiz. It was necessary to answer 11 questions for example what document you need to have with you to receive a ballot paper or how many popular referendums were held in Pridnestrovie. The winners of the online quiz were the twelve participants with the most points. They received diplomas and mementos.
Competition of essays was launched on issues of electoral law, legislation on referendum, the relationship of elections with political, social and other processes in society on April 1. Schoolchildren of grades 9-11 and first-year students of universities, technical schools and colleges could take part in the competition.
The Head of the Central Election Commission emphasized that the Pridnestrovian youth are professional, proactive and intellectual. Members of the Election Commission PMR prepared an online tour of the museum of the history of elections and referendums, lectures for schoolchildren. Chairman of the Tiraspol Territorial Youth Commission in an easy way, briefly and clearly, covers the basics of the electoral process. Elena Gorodetskaya is confident that the online excursion and lectures will be of great help not only for pupils and students, but also for social studies teachers who cover issues of electoral law and the electoral process within the framework of training courses.
