The Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation has been celebrated in Pridnestrovie for several years. The initiators of the festive events this year were representatives of youth public organizations. The venue was the Contact Center of Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko for interaction with Rossotrudnichestvo in Tiraspol. Chairman of the Youth Parliament under the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Roman Efodiev acted as a moderator of the event.
The Chief Specialist-Expert of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office Artem Naumenkov noted in his welcoming speech that many different events are being held on the basis of the Contact Center of Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko for interaction with Rossotrudnichestvo.
Youth activists prepared a short lecture on the history of the Russian flag. The participants of the event learned a lot of new and interesting information. For example: the usual white, blue and red colors appeared on the Russian flag during the reign of the second tsar from the Romanov dynasty Alexei Mikhailovich, nicknamed the Quietest. The modern sequence of colors on the flag was approved by his son, Peter I.
The participants of the event after the lecture were treated to an exciting quiz, also dedicated to the Russian tricolor. The questions were not easy, but the participants of the quiz turned out to be real connoisseurs of history. Additional questions were required to determine the winner. It was the Chairman of the Expert Youth Council Yuri Kasumyan as a result.
Teleconference was held with the Organizing Committee of the Youth Intellectual Project "Commonwealth of Independent States" as part of today's event. Representatives of the project highly appreciated the events organized by Pridnestrovian activists.
Its participants at the end of the event held a flash mob "Flag of Russia" in the center of Tiraspol.
