City Day in Slobodzeya

On September 21, the day of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Slobodzeya celebrated the City Day. For the first time, a new holiday that united the Russian and Moldovan parts was celebrated last year. Then Slobodzeya widely celebrated its 250th anniversary.

The 251st birthday began with a solemn meeting at the Glory Memorial Arch. Deputy of the Supreme  Council Pavel Shinkaryuk congratulated the townspeople on the holiday. He noted that concrete steps are being taken to make Slobodzeya more beautiful and more comfortable every year, wishing every family well-being, happiness and peace. Then the city administration, city district council deputies and residents of Slobodzeya laid flowers at the graves of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War, monuments to the defenders of the republic and soldiers - internationalists.

The big bike ride kicked off the sports section of the City Day festive program in Slobodzeya. 70 cyclists rode in a column along the memorial sites of the city for almost 14 km. The deputy of the Supreme  Council Pavel Shinkaryuk and the deputy of the Slobodzeya District City Council Viktor Diligul also took part in the bike ride.

The deputy for the Slobodzeya district Pavel Shinkaryuk supported athletes of all ages - he became a sponsor of drafts tournaments, mini-football, darts and kettlebell lifting competitions.

The center of Slobodzeya opened for connoisseurs of art the open-air museum "Slobodzeya in the mirror of history" and exhibitions of works by students and teachers of the children's art school and pupils of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity. A concert of the city's creative teams and a solemn ceremony of honoring the residents took place on the square of the arcade complex. The deputy of the Supreme Council Pavel Shinkaryuk presented the honored residents of the Slobodzeya with letters of thanks and gratitude from the Supreme Council, and from himself - memorable souvenirs. Congratulations were also addressed to married couples celebrating the 50th anniversary of their marriage in 2020. The golden jubilees shared the secrets of maintaining a strong family.

In the evening, the folk vocal and instrumental ensemble "Parusnik" and the eminent soloists of the regional House of Culture Valery Lenikov and Artyom Demchenko delighted the residents with their creativity. At the end of the holiday there was a laser show. This is another enchanting gift to the residents of Slobodzeya on the city's birthday from the deputy of the Supreme   Council for district No. 28 Pavel Shinkaryuk.
