Financial compensation instead of a set of seasonal clothing and shoes

Deputies made changes to the law “On additional guarantees for the social protection of orphans and children left without parental care.”

According to the norms in force in the law, orphans and children without parental care who graduate from educational organizations are provided with seasonal clothing and footwear at the expense of the republican budget. Graduates of vocational education organizations (for example, technical schools and colleges) from among orphans and children left without parental care are also provided with clothing, footwear, soft goods and equipment at the expense of the republican budget.

The Government's initiative proposes to enshrine in law a rule according to which, if desired, instead of a set of seasonal clothing and shoes, graduates of educational organizations can be given monetary compensation in the amount of 240 minimum wages (2328 rubles). The amount of monetary compensation for graduates of technical schools and colleges will be 1290 minimum wages (12513 rubles).

This norm has been prescribed in the law on the republican budget for the corresponding year since 2018.

Amendments to the law “On additional guarantees for the social protection of orphans and children left without parental care” were unanimously supported by the deputy corps. The new measures will come into force on the 1st of January, 2024.
