The rector will appoint deans of faculties of Pridnestrovian State University

The position of the dean of the faculty of Pridnestrovian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko will become appointed. The decision on the appointment to the position will be made by the rector. The deputies of the Supreme Council adopted amendments to the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic "On Higher and Postgraduate Professional Education" and the Labor Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the second final reading.

The position of the dean of the faculty is elective. The heads of branches and directors of institutes are appointed by the rector at the same time. The legislative initiative of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is designed to bring the existing norms to uniformity.

The draft laws assumed initially that the position of the head of the department would also be appointed. However, a compromise solution was found after additional meetings: it was decided to leave this position elective, since the heads of departments at the university are engaged in scientific work.

Amendments to the current legislation, supported by the deputies at the plenary session, will enter into force immediately after signing by the President and official publication. The deans who are currently in office (according to the Charter of Pridnestrovian State University, they are elected for 5 years) will complete their work until the end of their term. All heads of faculties will be appointed by the rector after that.
